Ariel Bergner

Was born in 1965 in Israel. He finished the Haifa Hebrew School and graduated from the Haifa Military Boarding School. In 1983-1989 he served in the Israel Defense Forces and was transferred to the Army Reserve with the rank of lieutenant.

In 1992 he graduated the Bachelor of Law degree in the UK. In 1992, he trained at the Haifa District Court and at a law firm. From 1993 till 1997, an employee of a law firm. From 1997 till 2009 he was an independent legal practice (lawyer).

From 2009 till 2014 – the judge of the Trial Court of Ashdod.

From 2014 till 2016 – the judge of the Trial Court of Netanya.

Since 2016 – the judge of the Court of First Instance Petah Tikva and the Local Court of Ariel.

PhD, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines.

Was born on September 22, 1974 in Odesa. In 1991 he finished the school № 74.

In 1996 he graduated from the Law Institute of the Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National  University with the diploma with honours majoring in Jurisprudence.

In 2006 he defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Municipal Rulemaking in Ukraine”. In 2012, by the decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the title of Associate Professor was conferred.

From January 1998 to December 2018 – Specialist, Senior Inspector, Head of International Relations Office (full-time position), Assistant, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor (part-time) at the National University “Odesa Law Academy”.

Since September 2019 – Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines of the Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University.

Author of more than 40 individual scientific works published in Azerbaijan, Germany, Moldova, Russia, Switzerland and Ukraine.

Co-author of educational and teaching manuals “EU Migration Law” (2004), “Constitutional Procedure Law” (2007), “The European Idea as a Factor of European Integration” (2008), “The Problems of Modern Constitutionalism” on (2011), “The Problems of Modern Constitutionalism” (2012); monographs  “Introduction to Ukrainian Law” First Edition (2005), “Introduction to Ukrainian Law” Second Edition (2010), “Fundamentals of Ukrainian Law” (2010), “Introduction to Ukrainian Law” Third Edition (2016), as well as the reference books “Legal Encyclopaedia for Youth” (2006), “Glossary of European Union Internal Market Terminology. Amended to include the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine” (2016).

Participated in the international technical assistance projects: TACIS “Law Studios: Kyiv and Selected Regions” (2003-2005); Phase II of the UNHCR Project on Local Integration of Refugees in Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine (2009-2011); TEMPUS IV “Support of Innovations through Improvement of Regulatory Framework for Higher Education in Ukraine” (2013-2015); TEMPUS IV “Development of Master’s Program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe” (2014-2017).

Has considerable experience in organizing international conferences, seminars, summer schools, visits of foreign specialists, as well as project management of the Council of Europe, TACIS, TEMPUS IV, ERASMUS + (K1, K2, Jean Monnet module), USAID, Fulbright, DAAD, MEVLANA at the local level .

He was awarded the certificate of merit of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (2009), Chairman of the Odesa Regional State Administration (2011), Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2015).

Member of the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine (since 2006) and the International Association of Constitutional Law (since 2018).
